Corrosion-resistant coatings: a protective shield for oil & gas plants

Rivestimenti_anticorrosione_impianti_petroliferi

A major problem in the oil & gas sector consists of wear on materials. Oils and chemicals act as aggressors for plants and are the main cause of the reduction in product life cycles.

Relying on its cutting-edge know-how, Argos Nickel Plating offers coatings specifically designed to make the surfaces of oil platform machinery and parts particularly resistant to abrasion and corrosion.

In one of our most recent projects, we dealt with a batch of steel balls with variable sizes — up to 56 inches and 12 tonnes in weight — used in oil pipelines.

The parts were treated with coatings of up to 75 µm thick to increase corrosion resistance and improve the surface in terms of sliding.

In specific cases, these products can also be nickel plated to achieve a hardness of higher than 900 Vickers.
