Zinc plating
Zinc-iron coatings: excellent corrosion resistance
Zinc-iron coating is an electrodeposition process of zinc with iron content between 0.6-0.8 percent obtained through alkaline aqueous solutions with specific additives.

Zinc-iron coating is an electrodeposition process of zinc with iron content between 0.6-0.8 percent obtained through alkaline aqueous solutions with specific additives. It is used for technical purposes in a variety of applications. Compared to pure zinc, it has higher corrosion resistance.
As in the case of “normal” zinc plating, this process can be followed by a passivation treatment: black or yellow.
BLACK ZINC-IRON
This type of coating offers, at 8/12 microns thick, resistance to iron corrosion in salt spray (ASTM B117) up to 500 h and to white oxides up to 250 h.
YELLOW ZINC-IRON
This type of coating offers, with 8/12 micron thickness, resistance to ferrous corrosion in salt spray (ASTM B117) up to 700 h and to white oxides up to 400 h.
