The advantages of ceramic coatings

PlasmaCoatĀ®, the plasma spraying technique by Argos, creates a high-quality ceramic coating.

The primary advantage of ceramic spray coating is that the base material acquires the outstanding functional properties of ceramics, such as a reproducible surface structure, electrical insulation, hardness, low thermal conductivity and wear resistance.

This process can be applied to a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics and carbon fibre, ensuring excellent adhesion to the substrate at all times and minimizing deformation of the substrate.

Ceramic coatings present unique characteristics

Choosing ceramic coatings or treatments for your machinery or tools means ensuring the best protection against corrosion, abrasion and wear and tear, as well as exceptional resistance to thermal shocks and excellent electrical insulation.

Ceramic oxide coatings are used, for example, on rollers for stretching film, rollers for hot applications, welding rods, screw conveyors, plastic and rubber extruders; in the food industry for hoppers, vibrating trays and weighing parts; and in applications and on rollers for printing processes, nonwoven fabric production lines and other production processes.

Depending on the materials used, thermal spraying of metal layers leads to good wear resistance, non-stick properties and smoothness or traction.
