The advantages of ECTFE coatings
ECTFE is a semi-crystalline, partially fluorinated polymer coating, in this case a copolymer of ethylene and chlorotrifluoroethylene. This coating is particularly suitable for corrosion protection.
ECTFE creates a strong barrier against oxygen, carbon monoxide, chlorine gas or hydrochloric acid.
ECTFE coatings protect machinery and systems against the corrosive effects of oxygen, chlorine gas, hydrochloric acid and carbon monoxide.
Among the various types of plastic, ECTFE is regarded as one of the best fluoropolymers on the market in terms of abrasion resistance. Because it is particularly resistant to many chemicals, including aggressive acids, caustic soda and chlorine, ECTFE coatings are used in the chemical industry (e.g. for storage tanks, reagent tanks, accessories, agitators and test probes).
ECTFE is also widely used in applications where a high degree of electrical insulation is required.
ECTFE coating is used in the MagnaCoat® system.
For over 30 years, Argos has provided surface treatments and coatings designed to increase the performance of industrial machinery and reduce the risk of wear and replacement.
Argos coatings with ECTFE are applied on behalf of third parties and are certified in accordance with UNI EN ISO 9001:2015.
